Danish architects from Arkitema have created interior for the reopening of Michelin-starred restaurant Frantzén in Stockholm. Restaurant Frantzén is one of Sweden’s most acclaimed restaurants with two Michelin stars and ranked as no. 23 in the world. The restaurant has just reopened after a refurbishment carried out by Arkitema Architects in collaboration with Studio Feuer. The decor is like food, inspired by both Swedish simplicity as advanced Japanese gastronomy. The material is made of subtle shades of lime, pine, linen / flax and leather. Winner of Renoverprisen 2014 is the sports center “Diamanten" in the small town Bojden on Als, Denmark. The old sports center is named after the diamond shape - using solar energy to provide cheap electricity to the center.  Diamanten uses solar power to heat up water in cooperation with the geothermal heating system. A natural ventilation system secures that the heat and energy of the athletes can be reused to heat the water. The building uses LED-lighting and is as a whole an energy efficient and very flexible construction with folding doors, that can merge four locker rooms into a meeting room. It is captivatingly futuristic and, alongside the other comparatively simple schemes, speculates just how advanced we could be if we hadn’t neglected our urban waterways for so long

Space of Light - a new interactive tunnel for Design City Kolding in the city of Kolding, Denmark. Winner with the proposal “Interference” was Kollision. The idea behind is that urban life is characterized by two opposing trends: an urge to belong and be part of a community and an opposing desire to be alone and anonymous in the middle of the rush. The dynamic and interactive lighting concept integrated in the tunnel walls that focus on the meeting between people walking through the tunnel. Spotted by missdesignsays.
